Embracing life.

Family Picture

Here I am again with a new blog post & hoping to find some direction here on a regular basis….

I usually come up with a theme for each season of my life. The reoccurring theme lately has been to truly embrace life. Embracing the moment right where God has placed me & not try to do or be anything else. So many times we get caught up in copying someone else’s life that we forget to live our own life. Am I right?

There are so many opportunities that are right in front of us daily & I want to embrace them with my full being. I want to make the most of each day. Instead of focusing strictly on health & fitness I have decided to go with my gut feeling & share the moments I learn to embrace the most. These things might be a variety of areas in my life, but I hope to inspire you with each one shared on this blog.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

Equipped for Success

I want to make sure that you are equipped for success before we dig into workouts, recipes, etc. These are some keys components to true success! I, too, have to be reminded of these on a regular basis!

1. Game Plan/Goals

Make sure that you are setting a goal and not a wish 😉

Goal: It is June 1, 2013 and I have lost 15 pounds.

Resolution: I have exercised 6 days a week and have stuck to eating clean 6 times a week.

Affirmation: I am so proud of myself for staying consistent! Hard & smart work truly pays off! I am so much more confident in my own skin!

Goal: It is June 1, 2013 & I have finished 3 books.

Resolution: I have taken 15 minutes before bed each night to commit to reading.

Affirmation: I have grown so much mentally & spiritually!

2.Write your goals down on paper

Post them where you can read them on a daily basis! I will be putting mine on our fridge & bathroom mirror.

3. Invest in good equipment

Whether you are a runner, professional athlete, teacher, or artist you must have proper equipment. As a runner it’s crucial to have a good pair of running shoes. When I am preparing for my Arbonne presentations I must have all my products, script, and flyers to have a successful outcome. Without the right equipment you may not be able to give your best effort. Make the investment…. I promise it’s worth it.

4. Share your goals with others & have accountability

Post them where you and others can read them daily. Share them on social media or with your closest friends so that you are held accountable to them. For me, I do much better when I share them with others so that they aren’t as easy to give up when it gets tough. Accountability is huge in achieving success!

5. Find a mentor

If you are wanting to learn more about something specific find someone who has already been where you want to go & do whatever it takes to learn from them! Mentors are so important in order to work smart. You can learn from their mistakes & reach your goals a lot quicker than if you tried to figure it all out on your own! Find a way to serve them so that you can learn & seek guidance along the way. Anytime you can make it a win/win go for it! Don’t make your success all about you & learn to serve others!

***Don’t worry… I am a work in progress as well! By no means do I have everything figured out! These are keys to success that I have learned from the mentors in my life! Make sure to ALWAYS be coachable & willing to learn/grow.

If you lack belief in yourself then you will not reach your goals. Read your affirmations daily & borrow someone else’s belief until you believe in yourself! You can borrow my belief in you! Challenge yourself to read these affirmations twice a day (morning & night) for 30 days.

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are RIGHT!”

I believe in you!

P.S. Workout posts coming soon!

Here goes nothing!

Hello world! I have been trying so hard to make sure that this blog is “perfect” & it’s gotten to the point where I don’t even want to open my computer because I know I will just delete whatever work I get done. Yes, I have been trying to be a perfectionist when I know I am so far from it.

Today as the chaos of being a momma of two was carrying on, God stopped me in my tracks & I realized that if I was waiting for the perfect time, pictures, blog, etc that I would never get it done or better yet, get it started. I am not one to be a perfectionist but I kept waiting until it felt like the perfect time to start putting my thoughts, tips, etc on social media again…. and to just to clarify: I am NOT a good typer or good with grammar. Apologies in advance! 😉

So, after the light bulb went off in my mind of just getting over the fact its not going to be perfect it hit me…. No one wants to read something that is full of perfection because honestly that is NOT REAL. None of us should try to portray perfection because we are so very far from it. Instead, I am taking a new approach to my blog: transparent, raw, messy, inspiring, & REAL.

Sometimes as a mom I just want to know I am not alone & that I can do it! I want to know that I am not the only one who eats her food & finishes her toddlers plate too. I want to know that sometimes I oversleep & miss my workouts. I also want to know that I CAN juggle being mom, wife, friend, & keep time for myself to workout, read, etc. Sometimes we just need that extra push to keep pressing on towards the things God has called us to do! I am praying & stepping out of my comfort zone to bring just that to you!

I will be sharing my thoughts, struggles, workouts, & tips with you on this blog!

I hope to inspire you in a way that will empower the greatness that is inside of you! Yes, even you mom’s who feel like all you do is change diapers & wait for your showers! I know as a mom that sometimes I am screaming inside to share & do things God has laid on my heart. So, ladies, what are we waiting for?? God has built greatness inside of you! Circumstances do NOT control us! God has given you everything you need to go after your goals so don’t wait on the perfect details to start! START NOW!

***I wanted to get some great pics of my family to post on here but honestly, that is easier said than done. Here is what we look like most mornings, afternoons, ….. well, until bath time! Ha! 😉 My husband is not pictured but don’t worry… He is my biggest supporter, best friend, & I am sure will make his blog debut at some point!

What can I say? This is the real me! 🙂
